Polish Armed Forces Day was established by an Act of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on July 30, 1992. It continues the tradition of the pre-war Soldier's Day, commemorating the Polish victory in the Battle of Warsaw during the Polish-Bolshevik War of 1920. On this day, we honor Polish soldiers, especially those who fought in World War II, and express our gratitude to those who defend our safety today.

The holiday dates back to the early 19th century during the Duchy of Warsaw, where Napoleon Bonaparte's birthday was informally celebrated as a day for the Polish army. After Poland regained independence, August 6 was celebrated, marking the launch of operations by the First Cadre Company. After World War II, from 1947 onwards, Soldier's Day was observed on August 15. However, the communist authorities later set October 12 as a more suitable date to commemorate the Battle of Lenino. In 1992, August 15 and the Battle of Warsaw were reestablished as the official day of commemoration.

In Poland, it is traditional to hold official Armed Forces Day celebrations, including impressive displays such as military reviews and parades in major cities.

This year, on August 15, a military parade marched through the streets of Warsaw, featuring over 2,500 soldiers from all branches of the Polish Armed Forces and nearly 80 color guards. Soldiers from allied forces also took part in the parade. The event showcased over 200 vehicles and around 20 aircraft.

During the main ceremony, prior to the parade, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, stated:

"In a moment, one of NATO’s leading armies will proudly march before us, backed by a powerful budget contributed by all citizens, supported by real alliances, and upheld by genuine love and trust from the nation. The Polish Army, our pride and glory.”

Indeed, the Polish Army is our pride and glory. At AMW Invest, we are proud and honored to Design for the Republic of Poland!
