Do you know how to design a shelter? We do! But continuous improvement, training, and workshops are never too much!

On June 6, the First SCHRONTECH 24 Shelter Technology Workshop took place at the Military University of Technology as part of the 3rd International Scientific Conference “Crisis Management - Civil Protection - Rescue” (ZK-OL-RAT Warsaw 2024).
AMW Invest was a workshop partner, and we had the pleasure of listening to lectures from leading Polish specialists in protective construction. We were also joined by international guests like Jyrki Ronkainen, who spoke about new protective construction standards based on ISO 22359, and Arto Kaikkola, who presented Finland's approach to modernizing older protective structures and utilizing public facilities (pools/gyms) as shelters in emergencies. The conference also provided insights into the technical guidelines for selecting doors in protective structures—the first document of its kind in Poland, developed by SIBO.

AMW Invest was well represented by its top architects, which was particularly rewarding since the lectures were followed by engaging plenary discussions and informal conversations. During the workshops, we also had the opportunity to view exhibitions from invited companies, with AMW Invest proudly presenting its own booth.

Our CEO, Paweł Kurtyka, M.Sc., Eng. Arch., delivered a lecture titled "Examples of Modern Protective Structures for the Polish Armed Forces," showcasing ongoing and completed projects. This allowed participants to see firsthand that working for the military offers great satisfaction but also involves unique challenges. As the Military Design Office, AMW Invest is well-versed in such challenges, unafraid of them because “We Design for the Republic of Poland” is our motto.

On April 29, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces announced the selection of a new name for the fifth-generation F-35 fighters on their social media. The name was chosen through an open vote on the General Staff’s X and Facebook profiles. "Husarz" (Hussar) sparked some controversy, breaking with the tradition of naming fighter jets after Polish birds of prey. However, as the Latin saying goes, Vox populi, vox Dei ("The voice of the people is the voice of God"). Undoubtedly, the new name draws on the proud traditions of Polish arms, as the hussars are regarded as one of the most effective cavalry formations in world military history.

For aviation enthusiasts, it might be a small consolation that "Husarz" also refers to the species Anax imperator, one of the largest dragonflies in Central Europe, which is also found in Poland.

Regardless of the chosen name, it is exciting to know that the Polish Air Force will receive 32 F-35 fighter jets in the coming years, with the first Polish pilots beginning their training this year.

AMW Invest is a proud designer of the infrastructure enabling Poland to receive the F-35, and it’s worth emphasizing that, from a design perspective, this is one of the most challenging and complex projects one can undertake due to the numerous requirements from the American side.

On April 17, the conference organized by the Association of Designers and Engineers, TOR Economic Advisors Team, and Rynek Infrastruktury took place at the Copernicus Science Center. AMW Invest was represented by CEO Paweł Kurtyka.

This prestigious industry event was a response to the pressing challenges facing Poland’s infrastructure investment market. During the congress, six debates were held on key issues for the industry, including geological research, nuclear energy, and BIM design. The event brought together representatives of top state institutions, dozens of partners, and several panelists. In total, around 450 participants attended, proving the congress's popularity in its second edition.

The mission of AMW Invest is to design for the Republic of Poland, and we are proud of this, just as we are proud to actively engage in the public discourse on the engineering, supervision, and infrastructure development sector.

Once again, AMW Invest proudly supports "Paczka dla Bohatera" (A Hero's Package)! This annual initiative, organized by a non-profit association active for 14 years, aims to help veterans and combatants who fought for a free Poland—soldiers of September '39, all fronts fighting in the West and the East, the independence underground, and those repressed by the communist regime. The Association’s main activity is organizing Christmas and Easter gift packages, and the campaign motto is, "They Fought for Us, Let’s Fight for Them."

This mission is especially close to AMW Invest, which, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, has chosen to support NGOs dedicated to preserving patriotic traditions, especially those connected to the military, as well as caring for veterans and combatants.

Thus, with pride, we have supported the Easter edition of the campaign this year as well. AMW Invest not only Designs for the Republic of Poland but also remembers those who made it possible for us to live in an independent Poland!

“These 25 years of Poland in NATO represent a major transformation of the Polish Armed Forces, an achievement by those who command and serve,” said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of National Defence.

For 25 years, Poland has been a valued member of NATO, and such an anniversary calls for reflection. It has undoubtedly been a time of dynamic development, building a strong position in Europe and the Alliance, but above all, a period of dedicated service by Polish soldiers.

The central celebration of the 25th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance was attended by top state officials and the leadership of the Polish Armed Forces. During the event, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of National Defence, honored military units for their exemplary fulfillment of alliance commitments. Certificates of recognition were presented to commanders of units including the Multinational Corps Northeast, 3rd Ship Flotilla, 6th Airborne Brigade, 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, 12th Mechanized Brigade, 15th Mechanized Brigade, 17th Mechanized Brigade, 20th Mechanized Brigade, 21st Podhale Rifles Brigade, 25th Air Cavalry Brigade, 23rd Tactical Air Base, JW GROM, and the Mission Preparation Center in Kielce.

AMW Invest is proud to contribute to strengthening NATO’s eastern flank. Recently, we have developed numerous specialized military building projects, including unique ones such as the entire military infrastructure for the squadron of fifth-generation F-35 multirole aircraft, a sports center for Polish and American forces, hangar zones, and modern ammunition depots. We are also pleased that among those recognized by the Minister of National Defence are the recipients and users of our projects.

Designing for the Republic of Poland is not only our mission but also our pride and a source of great satisfaction!

In November 2023, the first residential building for soldiers stationed at the Biała Podlaska garrison was completed and put into service. The five-story building, designed by AMW Invest, is located at 1A Kopernika Street and includes 23 service apartments ranging from 30 to 70 m², including 13 dormitory quarters, storage units, and parking with 43 spaces.

More buildings are planned, with the entire investment process scheduled through 2030.
“The investment aims to provide modern and comfortable accommodations for soldiers and is a mark of our appreciation and support for their challenging and important service to the homeland,” says AMW.

Over a thousand soldiers are already serving in the Biała Podlaska garrison, with a target of up to 3,000. We are pleased that our project will provide modern and comfortable accommodations for some of them.
